THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS FOR SALE AT CORN MAZE
Potatoes: Freshly harvested and bagged for immediate consumption right out of the ground when they never taste better. We have several varieties of white-, red-, purple-, and yellow-fleshed potatoes. If you are particular about what you want, please call ahead to make sure the variety and/or flesh/skin color is ready for you to pick up when you arrive.
Pumpkins: This year, due to short supply, we are offering our pumpkins only to those who are willing to pick their own, i.e. U-Pick Pumpkins. Actually, this is part and parcel of our Pumpkin Patch Tour, see 'Farm Tours'.
Squash: We have many varieties of squash from Hubbard to Butternut to Sunshine and others. Our favorite is Sunshine and we highly recommend it. No gourds available this year.
Corn Stalks: Now that autumn is here, we have bundled corn stalks into sheaves (or shocks) for the season's displays and decorations. Halloween is coming soon.
FOUNDATION SEED POTATOES
* DAISY GOLD
We received a quantity of Daisy Gold, Magic Molly and NY150 from the NYS Uihlein Seed Farm and they grew quite well and will be offered for sale in November 2015 as the highest quality seed potatoes extant. We also offer them as tablestock for those who request them via Internet.
* Magic Molly is a relatively new purple-fleshed, purple-skinned variety introduced in Alaska. Flesh is purple throughout and retains it color despite boiling. The shape is variable, typically oblong to blocky. Tubers can be small or large, with some over 6 inches long.
* NY150 is presently an unreleased variety from Cornell University. This variety would seem to be the next best thing for 'baby' or 'petite' potatoes, a.k.a. creamers. We hope to offer all of its progeny for sale next fall. They are brilliantly white, round tubers, with shallow eyes which hold their shape whether boiled, steamed, roasted or baked. Also, good for chipping.
